The month was full of visitors. We spent a week in the bayou with the Tramel family. The weather was beautiful and Peyton had a great time making friends with Brooks, McKinlee, Matt and "Lusianna" (TeAna).
For Thanksgiving Peyton got a visit from Grandaddy, Grammy, Aunt CC and Brooklyn. She was too excited to sleep and even got to take a trip into NYC. She liked the Macy's store window decorations and the Rockafeller Tree but was most impressed by the pigeons and her citing of Cookie Monster and Elmo on the street corner!

So Many Changes!
It seems little Miss Peyton is changing by the hour these days. She has 11 teeth with 3 on the way; half of these have come in just since January! Here are some of Peyton's favorites (for now):
Food - vegetable lo mein, red beans & rice, M&M's, jello and fruit snacks
Playtime - sidewalk chalk or anything outside (no matter the weather). She also loves to dance with mommy in the living room to Lady Antebellum or Mary J Blige.
Saying - "Hi, how you?" If asked back she replies..."Guud." When you sneeze she is very quick to say, "Bless You!."
She loves helping with laundry, unloading the dishwasher and cooking (which she does from the comfort of the BabyBorn). She is also showing signs of being maticulous and wanting everything in its place. Before she gets out of her crib in the morning she likes to put everything back in its place (that is probably mommy's fault for passing on this trait).
She started showing interest in hair bows, which makes mommy very happy! Some days she leaves them in all day; other days it is out before she gets to school. At least we are making progress.....
Peyton has a HUGE crush on our 8 year old neighbor, Hunter and everytime we go outside she is looking for him and calling his name. When Hunter rides his ATV in his front yard, Peyton is known to go to the garage and get her Barbie 4-Wheeler just to show off and be like him. When we go say hi to Hunter she stares up at him all stary eyed and simply giggles :D
At 18 months here are Pey's stats:
Weight - 22.2 lbs (25%)
Height - 31.5 in (75%)
Vocabulary - over 50 words
Mobility - runs, hops, jumps and never stops!
Sleeping - 1 nap a day mostly which is 2- 2 1/2 hours long and sleeps 9 hours at night.
BINKIE (Pacifier) - HASN'T USED IT IN A MONTH!!!!!
Shapes - Peyton recognizes & can point out a square, oval, circle, star, heart, cross, triangle & the Nike Swoosh symbol
Alphabet - Peyton recognizes and can pick out the following letters in the alphabet: B, O, I, N, C & R
Colors - we have just started working on colors; for some reason brown is the first color she recognizes???
Food - vegetable lo mein, red beans & rice, M&M's, jello and fruit snacks

Peyton is well on her way to talking the world's ear off these days. She seems to master at least 2 new words or phrases a day and makes it her business to personally say hello to everyone we pass. We have started trying to teach her words in other languages. This week she mastered Hola and Tchau (sounds like chow). Her vocabulary is too large these days to actually count words/phrases. She is also starting to consistently recognize letters of the alphabet by sight. So far we have "I" and "R" and we are fairly consistant with "O" and "N".
Peyton continues to be a very picky eater but now loves guacamole, crab rangoons and hummus. She has also developed quite a sweet tooth and is often asking for ice cream. Oatmeal and fruit continue to be her staple food items as we go back and forth between a small list of other foods.
Nana and Papa took a spring vacation and came to visit in the middle of March. The weather couldn't have been more perfect during their time here. We played outside every day and Peyton loved every minute of them being here. She is definitely a Nana's girl but Peyton loves trying to impress Papa as well. Peyton was very sad the first day we came home from daycare and Nana and Papa weren't here. She ran straight to their room and then after I explained they had to go back home to Oklahoma, she hung her head low, frowned and clung to mommy's leg for a very long time. Now she just points out places where their things were or where she would sit with, play with or see them.

Peyton has been a very busy girl lately growing, developing and mastering new skills. She has started her transition to the Toddler Room at daycare whcih includes sleeping on a cot rather than a crib. She has cut her 7th tooth and has a handful of others trying to do the same. She has gone poopoo in her potty twice now, but still isn't ready to do the same with peepee. (Much to daddy and mommy's surprise) she called 911 the day of the blizzard and travelled to Vermont last weekend where she had two Valentine boyfriends, Lucas and Elijah. Peyton is trying very hard to dress herself and thanks to Elijah is now standing on and trying to jump off everything. The funniest new thing she showed us this week is what appears to be a yoga move. We haven't gotten a picture of it yet but she is on her hands and feet when she lifts one leg and her head. She cracks herself and us up every time! To top everything off, she has a vocabulary of well over 30 words (we are still counting) and can easily tell us what she wants and of course doesn't want.

The new year has definitely been memorable. In the first few weeks of the year Peyton fell and hit her head at daycare, got a stomach virus and has started teething again. 2010 hasn't been easy but we are optimistic it will be a great year!
Peyton makes us love her more with each passing day. It is clear she knows exactly what she wants and she is trying to communicate that to us as her vocabulary grows. Besides Elmo, Peyton loves Ernie from Sesame Street. She can name almost all of the characters from the show but strongly prefers Elmo and Ernie. "Osca" (Oscar) and "Gova" (Grover) run a tight 3rd and 4th. Peyton frequently reminds McK and I which items we have told her not to touch or get into by pointing to them and then saying, "No, No, No!" She got the thumbs up from the doctor on her 15 month checkup and is still in the 90% for height but her weight continues to drop as she is now at 25% for weight. You can imagine how fun this makes buying clothes for her
Our child who would only eat fruits and vegetables up until a couple of months ago now loves bread and butter, nutella, Jimmy Dean sausage links, oatmeal, cinnamon french toast sticks, mac and cheese, grilled cheese and of course fruit. Quite the change, huh? The good news is that she has just started showing a slight interest in drinking milk during the day and every now and then will drink it right out of the fridge (really cold).
Peyton has a play date coming up with her friend Lucas on Saturday and the weekend of Valentine's Day we are heading up to Vermont with Lucas and his family. We think it will be a great time. She also gets to spend the weekend with our good friend Natalie as she is coming to visit (weather permitting).
