Milestone After Milestone

In just a few short days Peyton will be 7 months old. As all parents, we are blown away at how quickly our baby girl is growing up. The last few weeks have been amazing. She can sit up on her own, including getting into a sitting position by herself. May 18th Peyton turned a sad day (the one year anniversary of Grandma Brownie passing away) into one with positive memories. Peyton not only got her first tooth, but she actually began to crawl. The crawling is slow going but she is able to stay up on all fours and get around rather than always resorting to her military crawl with her belly down. The tooth has just barely broke the surface but it is definitely out and on its way up.

Peyton is a great eater and gives us no trouble with all the foods we give her. Peas aren't her favorite but she still finishes them. She even likes prunes! Sleep is still good. Prior to her tooth coming in she was sleeping at least 10 hours a night. The last couple of days she isn't sleeping as much but she is still getting over 8 hours at night.

Peyton got to go to the Rutgers Scarlet & White football scrimmage, Stuff Yer Face afterwards and even a Japanese Habachi. Her favorite things include plastic water bottles, going for walks or anything that involves being outside and playing on the laptop. She is talking up a storm (in her own language) and her favorite thing to say is Da Da. Her hair is starting to show signs that it may have a little natural curl to it. When it is humid outside it begins to get wavy and flip out, just like mommy's hair :)

6 Months Has Flown By Since Peyton Was Born

At Peyton's 6 month check-up she measured 27 3/4 inches(longer than 97% of babies her age) and weighed 16lbs 2 oz (right in the middle at 50%). She was given thumbs up on her development by Dr. Patel.

Peyton can sit unsupported and is scooting, but has yet to actually crawl.....we think she is super close. She loves to talk and enjoys all foods except applesauce and peaches. She is strong enough that she stands while leaning on objects but of course can't pull herslef up at this point.

Peyton got to visit the animals at Rutgers Day, went with mommy to work for a couple of hours on "Bring Your Child To Work Day" and had her first weekend babysitter (Lisa Gonzalez) while mommy and daddy went to dinner for their 3rd wedding anniversary. Peyton did great with Lisa until she woke up and mommy and daddy weren't there at her crib. She got upset but mommy was able to calm her down once we got home (20 minutes later). Overall, she is a very happy baby and is sleeping at least 10 hours at night!

Breathing Treatment

The doctor told us to have Peyton breathe in the mist from her (elephant) humidifier to help break up her congestion; they also warned us she would most likely cry ........ Not a chance!
