Since our last posting Peyton has transitioned to the Infant B classroom at daycare and no longer has the privilege of being cared for by Ms. Norma. Last week was her first full week in her new class and let's just say there are some things that need to be ironed out. Overall, she seems to like playing in the bigger room and with her new friends Darcy and Gabrielle though.
Peyton had tubes put in both of her ears last Thursday. She was excellent. She didn't cry a bit prior to her surgery even though she was up 2 hours and could not eat (total of 12 hours since her last meal). Despite only having been off of antibiotics for 2 weeks the day of her surgery, the doctor found that Peyton had infections in both ears! This brings her ear infection count to 7 in 6 months. Peyton came out of surgery fine and was actually walking later that afternoon!
Peyton had a great weekend despite a nasty cough and congestion. For several weeks now she has been working on repeating the words or sounds we say to her. She almost has the word ball down and likes to roar like a tiger. She continues to enjoy gadgets and even learned to pull up the menu on my blackberry and scroll through it with the tracking wheel!

Months 9 & 10
Hard to believe our baby girl is already 10 months old and staring her first birthday in the face. Peyton actually turned 10 months in Irving, TX as we flew there to surprise our friend Debbie for her birthday. We had to leave our house at 5am for the airport and then we had a marathon flight on the way back due to weather, but Peyton was very good and patient on both flights.
While in Texas, Peyton was a shadow to her girlfriend, Ady. She wanted to do everything Ady was doing. Ady was great with Peyton and shared all her terrific toys. She also got to meet mommy's friend Milissa and her three kids. The youngest, Ally loved Peyton!
Once we returned home we had a doctor appointment and learned Peyton has her 5th ear infection (since the first week of March). She will be getting tubes September 10th. We are dreading it but hoping it will help her be through with ear infections and all the nasty side affects of the antibiotics. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers, please.
2 days after turning 10 months Peyton took her first step and remained standing. 3 days later she took 2 steps, then 3 steps. One week after her 10 month milestone, she took a whopping 6 steps. By the time some of you read this, she may be walking for good?
You will also notice pictures from Peyton's trip to the shore earlier in August and her new friend Lucas who is only a few weeks younger than her. They had a great time together.
Peyton has decided she likes to talk constantly and loudly :( She now likes black eyed peas, strawberries, homeade biscuits and even hard salami; we don't really give her more than a taste since we are afraid it will upset her stomach. Peyton even had a couple bites of steak and seemed pleased. Her favorite food right now is still blueberries. We tried juice mixed with water but Peyton prefers plain water and we aren't complaining!
