Rockin & Rollin!

Month four has gone so fast it is amazing; both of Peyton's sets of grandparents traveled to New Jersey to visit her. Though not official, we are pretty sure she won them all over with her smile!

Peyton measured 26 inches and 14lbs 8oz at her four month checkup. This puts her weight in the 55 percentile and her length in the 95 percentile.....yep that means she is very tall and skinny for her age; let's hope that continues :) She handled her 2nd round of shots very well and was home playing & smiling within 20 minutes of receiving them (tears only lasted a few minutes thankfully).

Peyton is rolling all over the place and in both directions; there is no keeping her stationary when she is playing in the floor. Her new favorite things are the remote control, her Johnny Jumper, taking walks in the stroller and her toes (yes, in her mouth). She found her ears a few weeks ago and tugs at them when she is tired.

Peyton started cereal after her doctor appointment on March 2nd. She wasn't too sure about it for the first week, but now loves it and grabs the spoon to feed herself. In April, we will start her green veggies and see what she thinks about that. She is holding her bottle for several minutes at a time and is still drooling all over the place. We are pretty sure she is teething now; only time will tell if the tooth will pop out for all to see or just continue to bother Peyton for a few more weeks. Peyton doesn't complain about the teething pain, but instead chews on her fingers, wash cloths or clothes constantly.

We are up to reading 4-5 books a night and Peyton can't get enough. She is even starting to develop her favorite parts and chuckles when we get to them. She also likes to help us hold the books now.

I Have Learned to Roll!

March 9th Peyton magically rolled in both directions; this video was a couple of days after this milestone.

February 2009

Peyton is a mover and shaker now. She has attended her first Super Bowl party,Church where she charmed the crowd, and a Valentine's Day party. She is rolling back and forth from side to side on her back, has flipped from her stomach to back once (not again), loves putting everything she grabs in her mouth and her new favorite things are her dolly, reading books every night and Baby Elmo that sings to her. She talks to mommy and daddy in what seems like paragraphs & she is dying to sit up. She can sit with the assistance of pillows and has found a way to almost sit up on her own with the help of her elbows....she practices all the time! Sunday McK and I took her to the mall and discovered she can sit in her stroller like a big girl now. She told us that riding in the stroller while in her infant carrier is "so for 2 month old babies and since she is almost 4 months old, she is over that!" :)

Guess Who's Three Months?

It is amazing to think our little girl is 3 months old already. Weeks 11-13 have brought a lot of change and growth developments. Peyton has found her hands and can't stop playing with them. She is also using them to grab and play with everything. This keeps her enthralled in her exersaucer and her car seat. During tummy time she is able to scoot all the way across the blanket to get to a toy out in front of her. She is making the correct crawling motions with both her arms and legs; she just hasn't figured out yet that she has to get up on her hands and knees before doing this in order to crawl.

Week 12 was a tough one; mommy had to go back to work. It is true that mom cried a lot, but the change seemed much easier on Peyton. She finger painted on her first day and did well even though she really didn't learn to sleep at daycare until this past week. We got her a bumper for her daycare crib and naps slowly started getting longer. Her teacher is Ms. Norma who has a Jamaican accent; mommy is hoping Peyton pics up a little of it. :) Her class currently has her and 2 other girls though rumor has it a boy will be joining them soon.

We have started reading books and walking on the treadmill together. Peyton loves it so much she falls asleep every time we go for a walk. Peyton's new favorite person is herself! She loves to look into the mirror and talk to herself. It often makes her giggle and she even reaches out to touch the "pretty baby in the mirror."

Peyton Is Growing!

Here are pictures from weeks 5 1/2 to 10 1/2. Peyton has been to Oklahoma for 10 days and 2 weddings as well as Birmingham, Alabama for the Pappa John's Bowl. She helped Rutgers pull off another win thanks to her adorable cheerleading outfit.

This month has seen Peyton get stronger. She balances on her elbows during tummy time for almost the whole time. She is also reaching with her arms while laying on her stomach. She loves to stand (with a little assistance) and can't stop looking around to take in everything around her. She also sleeps between 6-9 hours at night which makes mommy and daddy very happy. Daytime naps are still a struggle but we are hoping within in the next few weeks that wont be a problem anymore either.

Stay tuned and pray for us as mommy has return to work in less than 2 weeks and Peyton will be adjusting to life at daycare (and away from her mommy & daddy).....
